His baozi were crafted with meticulously selected ingredients, thin wrappers, ample fillings, and uniform pleats, earning such acclaim that his nickname became the brand's name. The art of making Goubuli baozi is listed as a national intangible cultural heritage, and in 2006, the brand was among the first batch of China Time-Honored Brands.
