The founder of Haibin seized the opportunity to set up a shop near Zhanqiao Pier, specializing in dried goods such as sea cucumber and abalone. Through wars and political changes, the shop underwent public-private partnership in 1956 and was later renamed Haibin Food Store. After the reform and opening-up, Haibin restored traditional techniques and upheld the business philosophy of 'genuine goods at fair prices,' becoming a taste embedded in Qingdao's collective memory. Culturally, it is not only a witness to the seafood trade but also a living carrier of Qingdao's marine culture, blending fishermen's wisdom with commercial integrity.
