Brand Story

Tianxiang Hao traces its origins to Jiangxi Province, where it is believed to have been founded around 1800 during the mid-Qing Dynasty, according to local records and folklore. At that time, the tea trade flourished in the Jiangxi region. The founder, whose name awaits verification, started as a tea merchant and later established a tea house in Nanchang, naming it 'Tianxiang' to signify 'heavenly blessings and enduring tea fragrance.' Initially specializing in local green teas, the tea house later expanded to include renowned teas from Fujian and Zhejiang, perfecting blending and roasting techniques. By the late Qing and early Republic era, the third-generation successor expanded to Shanghai and Hankou, spreading Jiangxi teas along the Yangtze River. Despite hardships during the War of Resistance, the tea house upheld its craft. After 1949, it was integrated into a collective tea factory, preserving its techniques. Today, descendants have revived the family business, combining traditional methods with modern standards to continue the century-old legacy. Tianxiang Hao embodies the rise and fall of Jiangxi's tea industry and the spirit of Jiangxi merchants, who valued both commerce and Confucian learning, operating with integrity.

“Heavenly blessings, enduring tea fragrance.”
