Brand Story
Tingli Guan, situated within the Summer Palace in Beijing, traces its origins to the Qianlong era of the Qing Dynasty (around 1750 AD). Originally a theatrical pavilion in the imperial garden, it was named after the emperor heard orioles singing while enjoying performances. In 1888, Empress Dowager Cixi had it converted into an imperial kitchen, exclusively serving the royal family. After the fall of the Qing Dynasty, it gradually opened to the public and became a celebrated restaurant for imperial cuisine. Following the founding of the People's Republic of China, it was taken over by the Beijing municipal government and designated as a time-honored brand. Its architecture blends royal garden aesthetics with culinary heritage, making it one of the few remaining imperial-style restaurants in Beijing, of significant historical and cultural value.
