Brand Story
Xiaguan Tuocha originated in Xiaguan (now Dali City), Yunnan, with a history dating back to 1902 (the 28th year of Guangxu in the Qing Dynasty). It was created by the Yongchangxiang trading firm, whose founder, Yan Zizhen, improved the traditional cake tea pressing technique to form a bowl-shaped tea that was easier to transport and store. Xiaguan, a key hub on the Ancient Tea Horse Road with a favorable climate, became a center for tuocha processing and distribution. In 1941, the Kangzang Tea Factory was established, later evolving into the Xiaguan Tea Factory. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, it became a state-owned enterprise, exporting products worldwide. Made from sun-dried Yunnan large-leaf tea leaves, Xiaguan Tuocha undergoes blending, steaming, pressing, and drying, resulting in a rich aroma and mellow flavor, earning it the title 'King of Pu-erh Tuocha'. Culturally, it carries the commercial memory of the Ancient Tea Horse Road and is a significant symbol of Yunnan tea culture.
