In desperation, Liu Xiu gripped the well's rim and with a mighty pull tilted it, causing spring water to gush forth and quench the entire army's thirst. After ascending the throne, he honored the well by naming it 'Bandaojing' (Tilted Well). Though not recorded in official histories, this tale has been passed down through generations, adding a legendary aura to the liquor. Gaoqing, located in the Yellow River Delta, boasts sweet spring water and abundant sorghum and wheat, fostering a long tradition of brewing. The Bandaojing distillery inherits this millennia-old craft, blending it with modern technology to produce a mellow and smooth spirit.
