Flying Pigeon was born in the construction boom of new China in the 1950s. In 1950, Tianjin Bicycle Factory (formerly the Changhe Factory during the Japanese occupation) began developing domestic bicycles under the leadership of the People's Government. In July 1950, the first batch of bicycles was produced and named 'Flying Pigeon', symbolizing peace and flight. In 1951, Flying Pigeon bicycles officially went into production, becoming one of the earliest self-owned bicycle brands in new China. During the era of material scarcity, Flying Pigeon bicycles, along with watches and sewing machines, were known as the 'Three Major Items', symbolizing family wealth. Flying Pigeon witnessed the start of new China's industrialization and carried the commuting memories of countless families. After the reform and opening-up, Flying Pigeon continued to innovate, exporting products overseas and becoming a source of pride for Chinese manufacturing. The birth of Flying Pigeon not only filled the gap in domestic bicycle production but also embodied the wisdom and hard work of the working class, symbolizing the unyielding spirit of national industry.
