Gougunao tea originates from Gougunao Mountain in Tanghu Town, Suichuan County, Jiangxi Province, named for its dog-head-like shape. Its history dates back to the Jiaqing period of the Qing Dynasty (c. 1796-1820), when the Liang family began cultivating tea there, developing unique processing techniques. During the Daoguang era (1821-1850), Liang Weiyi, a descendant, opened a tea house in Nanjing, spreading its fame. In 1915, Gougunao won a gold medal at the Panama-Pacific International Exposition, gaining international acclaim. Since then, it has won numerous awards, becoming a representative of Jiangxi's famous teas. More than a beverage, Gougunao embodies the wisdom and memory of generations of Suichuan mountain farmers, with its craftsmanship passed down through the Liang family, reflecting the profound depth of Chinese tea culture.
