In the early 20th century, merchant Deng Huichuan founded the 'Huichuan Zaofang' (Huichuan Distillery) in Erlang Town, later renamed 'Jiyi Zaofang', marking the start of scaled production. In 1956, through a public-private partnership, the state-owned Lang Distillery was established, officially adopting the 'Lang' brand. Lang Liquor is celebrated for its rich sauce aroma and mellow, crisp taste, earning numerous national honors. Its unique brewing process involves high-temperature starter-making, double grain input, nine steaming cycles, eight fermentations, and seven extractions, followed by years of aging. The culture of Lang Liquor blends the natural ecology of the Chishui River with the folk customs of southern Sichuan, reflecting the profound heritage of Chinese baijiu.
