Laoshan, located in Qingdao, Shandong, has been known as the 'No. 1 Famous Mountain by the Sea' since ancient times. According to the 'Laoshan Annals', in 140 BC (the first year of Jianyuan in the Western Han Dynasty), Taoist priest Zhang Lianfu came to Laoshan and established the Taiqing Palace, digging wells and using the mountain spring water as sacred water for health. Subsequent Taoist priests used Laoshan spring water to brew medicine and tea, forming a Taoist wellness culture. By the Song Dynasty (960-1279), tea cultivation in Laoshan was recorded, and in the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), Taoist priests at Taiqing Palace began large-scale tea planting and developed unique tea-making techniques. In modern times, in 1900 (the 26th year of Guangxu in the Qing Dynasty), German businessman Maja discovered high-quality mineral water in Laoshan and established a factory, which later evolved into today's Laoshan brand. The Laoshan brand embodies Taoist culture, tea culture, and mineral water culture, serving as an important symbol of Qingdao's urban memory.
