Brand Story

Produced in Yibin, Sichuan, Wuliangye's brewing heritage traces back to the Tang Dynasty, when 'Chongbi Wine' was already famous. In the Song Dynasty, the local government brewed 'Lizhi Green' from multiple grains, a precursor to Wuliangye. During the Ming Dynasty, the Chen family created 'Mixed Grain Wine' using five grains—sorghum, rice, glutinous rice, wheat, and corn—establishing a unique recipe. In the late Qing Dynasty, brewer Deng Zijun refined the formula, and in 1909, it was officially named 'Wuliangye,' meaning 'essence of five grains, jade-like nectar.' Celebrated for its enduring aroma, mellow taste, sweet entrance, and clean finish, Wuliangye stands as an outstanding representative of Chinese baijiu. Its brewing technique is a national intangible cultural heritage, and its brand value continues to soar, making it a shining gem among China's time-honored brands.
