In 1950, the People's Art Service Society, the first musical instrument factory in New China, was established, later renamed Beijing Musical Instrument Factory and registered under the 'Xinghai' trademark. The name 'Xinghai' honors the renowned people's musician Xian Xinghai, symbolizing music's service to the people. Under the leadership of the first factory director, Chen Yunhua, and his team, Xinghai produced the first domestically made piano, ending China's reliance on imports. Over the years, Xinghai expanded its product line to include pianos, violins, and wind instruments, becoming the largest musical instrument manufacturing base in northern China. Its instruments not only meet domestic demand but also reach international markets, contributing to the global spread of Chinese music culture. Xinghai's journey mirrors the growth of China's musical instrument industry from scratch to strength, carrying the musical dreams of generations.
