According to legend, the founder, surnamed Wang, was an apprentice at a local pastry shop who later developed his own recipe, using flour, sugar, and oil as main ingredients. Through repeated refinements, he created a unique flavor. The name 'Yefengsu' comes from the practice of air-drying the pastries in a ventilated area. In the late Qing and early Republic period (1900-1912), the shop moved to Jinan city and gradually became a local delicacy. In the 1950s, after public-private partnership, the craft of Yefengsu was preserved and integrated with modern production. Its cultural significance lies in passing down the techniques of Lu-style pastries, reflecting the simplicity and meticulousness of Shandong's food culture.
