Founded in 1665 during the Qing Dynasty by Ye Xinpei from Ningbo, Ye Tongren originally operated as 'Ye Tongrentang' in Wenzhou. To avoid confusion with Beijing's Tongrentang, it was later renamed 'Ye Tongren'. The Ye family upheld the ancestral motto: 'Though ingredients are costly, never reduce them; though processing is intricate, never cut corners.' They selected authentic herbs and adhered to ancient methods, gradually earning a stellar reputation in southern Zhejiang. Over centuries, Ye Tongren witnessed the rise and fall of Wenzhou's commerce while preserving profound TCM culture. Beyond selling medicines, it offered ginseng, deer antler, pills, powders, and ointments, and invited renowned physicians to provide consultations, becoming a pillar of Wenzhou's TCM development. Today, despite changes, its cultural heritage and craftsmanship remain revered.
