In 1882 (the eighth year of Guangxu reign), Chinese merchant Wu Maoding and partners acquired the firm, renaming it Zheng Guanghe, symbolizing 'upright origin, wide circulation, and harmonious prosperity.' In 1902, Zheng Guanghe Soda Water Factory was formally established, introducing advanced equipment to produce lemon soda and other beverages, which quickly became a sensation in Shanghai.
