Brand Story
Originating in Fujian, Qinghong's history dates back to the Tang Dynasty (618-907 AD), flourished during the Song and Yuan dynasties, and gained fame at home and abroad in the Ming and Qing. Legend has it that in the late Tang, Wang Shenzhi brought Central Plains brewing techniques to Fujian, which blended with local waters and grains to create a unique flavor. By the Song Dynasty, brewing was widespread in Fuzhou, celebrated by literati. In the Ming and Qing, Qinghong became essential for Min cuisine and folk festivals, especially weddings and birthdays. The brewing process, passed down through generations, uses glutinous rice and red yeast rice, undergoing soaking, steaming, cooling, mixing, fermenting, pressing, and clarifying over a hundred days. The result is an amber wine with rich aroma and taste, carrying the nostalgia and customs of the Min people.
